Mac apps made by users, for users

Small Mac apps. That do the job.

We make Mac apps that take a chore off your list and get it done fast. The first is Abobi: drop in your files and get a finished audiobook in no time.

Abobi is available on the Mac App Store

Version 1.1, with Fast and Accurate chapter finding and free books up to three hours, arrives in late November. Until then the App Store has version 1.0.

Why this exists

Most tools ask for more than the job needs.

01

One app, one task

Abobi does one job, start to finish: your files in, an audiobook out. No dashboard, no feed to wade through.

02

Your files stay put

The work happens on your Mac. Abobi never uploads your audio, and it has no account and no tracking.

03

Free for books up to three hours

Every feature included. Longer books need the full version ($8.99, paid once) or a 7-day pass ($1.49), both at launch prices. Nothing renews by itself.

Abobi

Audiobook bindery for Mac

Your files. A finished audiobook.

Make a book with its cover and details in just a few clicks. Or go further and give your recordings real chapters, with Abobi doing the hard part of finding and naming them.

Two ways to make your book.

Pick the one your files need.

The fast way

A finished audiobook in a few clicks.

Your files are already one per chapter? Drop them in, look up the book and export.

  1. 01

    Drop in your files

A folder of MP3s, other audio, or even a video. Each file becomes a chapter.

A folder being dragged into the empty Abobi window
  2. 02

    Search for the book

One search fills in the title, author, narrator, description and cover. Change anything you like.

  3. 03

    Export one M4B

One audiobook for Apple Books, with its chapters, cover and details.

The Export tab in Abobi with the file name built from the author and title, and the Export as M4B button

The thorough way

Real chapters and their titles, found for you.

One long recording with no chapter marks? Abobi suggests where each chapter starts and can name each one. You check the ones it isn't sure about.

And it's quick: a book takes minutes.

  1. 01

    Drop in your files

One long recording, a folder of files, or the sound from a video.

  2. 02

    Search for the book

Fill in the title, author, narrator, description and cover in one search.

  3. 03

    Let Abobi set the chapters

Choose Fast or Accurate and click Find Chapters. Turn on Add chapter titles and Abobi names them too.

  4. 04

    Verify or edit the chapters

Chapters worth a second look are marked. Click a boundary to hear it, drag it to move it, and select words in the transcript to pick a title. Every change can be undone.

  5. 05

    Export one M4B

Every chapter in place, with the cover and book details.

How we make things

What goes into each app.

Design

Made for the Mac

Abobi runs on Apple silicon with macOS 14 Sonoma or later, and its interface comes in 13 languages.

Simplicity

A few clear choices

Fast or Accurate. A small voice file or high-quality stereo. No settings maze.

Usefulness

Built around the finished file

A feature earns its place if it helps you end up with a good M4B. If it doesn't, it stays out.

Craft

Answers from the people who make it

Write to support@workadaytools.com, or use Help › Report a Problem in the app. We read every message.

We run Workaday Tools from Szczecin, Poland. We design the apps, write the code and answer the email.
