Abobi for Mac · Last updated 14 September 2026

In short: Abobi does not collect personal data. Your recordings are processed only on your Mac. There are no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. The only information that leaves your Mac is the title and author you search for.

Who is responsible

Abobi is made by Leszek Zalewski, publishing as Workaday Tools. For any question about privacy, write to support@workadaytools.com.

What stays on your Mac

Audio files, chapters, covers, metadata, projects and settings are processed and stored only on your Mac. The voice check that listens for chapter announcements uses a speech-recognition model built into the app; no audio is sent anywhere.

What is sent when you search

Abobi connects to the internet only when you use metadata search or chapter names from the catalog. It then sends the search text — usually the title and author — directly from your Mac to these services:

Abobi does not send your files, name, email address or any identifier. As with any internet connection, these services can see your IP address, and their own privacy policies apply — for example Apple’s and Google’s. If you don’t use these features, Abobi makes no such connections.

Purchases

The full version is sold through the Mac App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details or who you are. Apple provides developers only with anonymous sales reports.

What we don’t do

If you have chosen in macOS to share crash data with app developers, Apple may pass anonymous crash reports on to us. You control this in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

When you email us

If you write to support, we use your email address and message only to reply to you. We keep the correspondence only as long as needed to help you and delete it on request. Email to workadaytools.com is forwarded by Cloudflare.

This website

This website uses no cookies, analytics or external fonts. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask what data we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. In practice the only such data is email you have sent us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority; in Poland that is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).

Children

Abobi is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with an updated date.
